Conceptual Movie Poster

I made this poster for a project in a Illustration class at City College San Diego. The movie I chose to make the poster for is "Fight Club". I chose this movie because it is one of my favorites. This poster uses illustrated imagery that conveys a pivotal scene from the movie, it is a scene that seems relatively insignificant to the plot. Then at the end it is revealed that the chemical "brand" is an important symbol for members of "Fight Club".

I decided to use a color scheme on brand with the movie advertising. In addition I utilized a halftone effect to convey the feeling of "disconnection from reality" another important concept of the movie. These aspects combined with messy textures and a wheatpaste poster application, tie the design together in a way that fits well with the movie's branding and theme.
